Davido has moved to quell the bashings he received on social media for handcuffing and parading two women who had jokingly accused him of impregnating one of them

CELEBRITY GIST... Tacha, Cosmos, Don Jazzy, Davido, Cossy and all that went down in the week

‘Blow My Mind’ crooner, Davido has moved to quell the bashings he received on social media for handcuffing and parading two women who had jokingly accused him of impregnating one of them on social media, by taking the pair on a treat.
Going by his recent activity on Instagram, the father of three who may have been disturbed by the deluge of criticism for his action against the girls, performed a PR stint.
Davido recently shared a video of his pranksters chilling by the pool side, on his verified Instagram page and even more interesting about the video post, is the fact that the ladies were dancing to his latest single, titled ‘Risky’.
The development comes after the singer was called out by staunch supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari who criticised him for accusing Nigeria’s number one citizen of abuse of power, but could subject the two ladies to torture by cuffing and parading them as naysayers.
In a series of backlash directed at Davido on Twitter, the singer was also slammed for defending the action of Spesh (Davido’s hypeman) who could be heard in the background of the video telling one of the ladies to lift up her head or get a slap in the face.
Below are some of the caustic comments directed at Davido on Twitter by supporters of Buhari who took to the social media platform to spill their guts over the action of the singer against ladies.
Kayode Ogundamisi posted on Twitter saying, “Imagine Davido as first Cousin in Osun State with his uncle Isiaka Adeleke as Governor and Buhari is meant to be the tyrant o!”
In the same vein, Jack Obinyan who did not support the actions, said “Davido should have left the women alone after they apologised because nobody arrested him for all the crap he said during the Osun elections.
“After the public apology, why will the girls be handcuffed and dehumanised in that manner? Davido is crap! Who arrested him for all the nonsense he said during the Osun elections? I dislike this guy now,” Obinyan posted on Twitter.
Also, Ayo Oyalowo also lashed Davido stating that Davido had no moral justification to call Buhari a tyrant for treating the ladies in such a manner.
He wrote on Twitter; “How come a simple civil case turned into handcuffs, harassment and videoing them? If this one’s brother had become governor, I can’t imagine how he would treat anyone who as much as refused to ‘dobale’ for him… meanwhile these same folks defame PYO daily here.
“This same Davido has been calling the President a tyrant ooo, imagine his brother was governor, just imagine it for a minute
“They (the women) defamed him, true, but it is a civil case, not a criminal offence,” Oyalowo added.

The spokesman for the presidential campaign council of the Peoples Democratic Party Buba Galadima has said that Nigerians would have been jubilating if the Supreme Court had sacked President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.
A Supreme Court panel on Wednesday dismissed the appeal of PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar challenging the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which affirmed the victory of Buhari in the February election.
Speaking on Channels Television on Wednesday, Galadima said, “If this judgment today had been that Buhari was removed from office, I’m sure that by now, there would have been fireworks all over this country.
“People would have been jubilating, pouring water on the streets and celebrating. But have you seen any individual who has demonstrated that he is happy with this judgment?” he asked.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, who led six other members of the apex court’s panel, delivered the three-sentence judgment which put paid to the legal dispute over the poll.
Shortly after the Supreme Court delivered the judgment, Atiku, the APC, the Senate President, Dr Ahmed Lawan and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, reacted.
Atiku said although the Nigerian judiciary had been sabotaged by a dictatorial cabal, his spirit was not broken by the judgment. The APC advised the former vice-president to stop what it called destructive agenda.

‘Stolen UK, US banks’ credit card info found on Naira Marley’s laptop’

Naira Marley

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday heard that stolen credit card information issued by European, American and Latin American banks were retrieved from a laptop allegedly belonging to musician, Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley.
An Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) forensics expert, Mr Nuru Buhari told Justice Nicholas Oweibo that some of the credit card information belonged to four persons in the United Kingdom (UK) including one Nicole Louise.
Buhari testified as the EFCC’s first prosecution witness in Marley’s alleged card fraud trial which began on Tuesday.
The witness, who was led in evidence by EFCC counsel Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, alleged that apart from the stolen information, the website visit history recovered from the device showed that the top five most visited sites dealt with buying and selling of stolen credit card information.
Buhari said: “During analysis, the cache file and history file revealed that the most frequently visited sites by the user of the computer includes arder007.org, Zuni.sa, nationwidecheckbalance.co.uk, ferunshop.net AMD cocoa.co.uk.”
“Analysis of the websites revealed that web 1 is where stolen card information is sold to intending fraudsters, web 2 is for stolen credit cards specifically for the UK, web 3 is an online website designed for UK card holders to check their balance wherever they are around the world, web 4 is a dark web meaning an underground tunnel in the internet where stolen credit card information are sold and traded, web 5 is an online shopping mall where members are given discounts for shopping from certain shops.”
He said stolen credit card information with special status that allows transaction up-to $12,000 without a pin or physical card was found in a file named select BIN 101.txt and .txt.
The witness added: “For the note file, two major files were discovered named .txt which contained about four credit card information belonging to four different personalities in the UK including one Nicole Louise. ”
“The second file is named selected BIN101.txt containing Bank Identification Number of European, American and Latin American banks.
“When we ran the BIN code search for the first six digits of the cards, it revealed they are Visa cards issued by Barclay’s bank, Sandander UK plc.”
Buhari testified that an analysis allowed his team to identify “certain banks in the US, Europe and Asia with certain peculiarities, these are banks that they issue credit cards without pins based on the high level of trust, they allow a transaction of up to $12,000 in a swipe on pos.
“Cards issued by those banks are card not required. All you need to execute a transaction is the card number and the CVV number. ”
According to him, suspicious apps that are mostly used by people with shady deals on the internet were found on the laptop.
He said: “We analysed installed apps on the laptop and we found two apps that enables the owner of the computer to decide the server of a bank as to his identity and location, IP VANISH and TOR browser.
“The TOR browser is sometimes called the onion. Most of the criminals cover their tracks with various layers just like an onion using this app to make it near impossible for a tracker to track their location.
“The IP VANISH is a virtual private network (VPN) which provides that the actual computer and location of usage cannot be identified. It also gives the user the ability to change their location.”
The court heard further that an analysis of the administrator account on the laptop revealed that the admin is one Naira Marley and the account was connected to his iCloud account.
During the hearing, Oyedepo tendered the request for the analysis of the Apple Mac book Pro laptop, an iPhone allegedly confiscated from the defendant and the forensic laboratory report prepared by Mr Buhari.
Justice Oweibo adjourned till Friday for cross examination of the witness.
Fashola, popular for his “Am I a Yahoo Boy” and “Soapy” tracks, is being prosecuted by the EFCC on an 11-count charge of conspiracy, possession of counterfeit cards and fraud.
His co-defendant is one Yad Isril, said to still be at large.
The defendant was arraigned on May 20, 2019, but pleaded not guilty.
He secured N2 million bail with two sureties in the like sum.
According to the charge, the defendant committed the offences on different dates including November 26, 2018, December 11, 2018, and May 10,
Fashola and his accomplices allegedly conspired to use different Access Bank ATM Cards to defraud their victims.
They allegedly used Access Card number 5264711020433662 issued to other persons, in a bid to obtain fraudulent financial gains.
Fashola was said to have possessed these counterfeit credit cards, belonging to different cardholders, with intent to defraud, and which also constituted theft.
The offences contravene the provisions of Section 1 23 (1) (b), 27 (1}, 33, 33(9) Cyber Crime (Prohibition) Prevention Act, 2015.

Lagos to get new airport in April 2020

Hadi Sirika asks Senate to approve new $461.8m loan for airports

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said Wednesday that Lagos State, the nation’s commercial nerve centre, would get a new international airport before the Easter celebration next year.
Sirika also told State House correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, that the Federal Government would deliver a new airport in Kano in December this year.
He said President Muhammadu Buhari had approved counterpart funding for the delivery of the two airports as scheduled.
He said: “Mr. President has gratuitously approved counterpart funding to quickly finish the new Lagos airport and that of Kano. We will by God’s grace complete Kano Airport in December and the new Lagos Airport with that of Enugu before Easter.”
According to the minister, it has become absolutely important to construct a new airport in Lagos because when the Murtala Mohammed International Airport was first commissioned in 1980, it was designed to serve only 200,000 people.
“With the number of passengers using the airport now risen from 200,000 in 1980 to eight million people today with the number of infrastructure there-in already collapsed state.
“The plan for the overhaul of the Lagos airport was in two phases and that after the delivery of the new airport, the old one will be redesigned and reconstructed in acknowledgment of the growing population of Lagos as well as the attraction that Lagos continues to generate.”

FG To Spend N4.88trn On New Minimum Wage, Personnel Costs In 2020

minimum wage, Zainab Ahmed, soft drinks, loan

The Federal Government, on Wednesday, disclosed plans to expend the sum of N4.88 trillion for payment of the new national minimum wage and other personnel costs in the 2020 fiscal year.
Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, who disclosed this during the National budget public hearing on the 2020 budget estimates at the joint session held at the instance of the Senate and House of Representatives, informed the lawmakers of the present administration’s projected investment of N10.33 trillion into Government Owned Enterprises (GOEs/Bilateral/Multilateral project tied loans/expenditures).
President Muhammadu Buhari had on October 8 unveiled the 2020 Budget proposal before a joint session of the National Assembly.
For the proposed budget deficit for 2020 was pegged at N2.175 trillion (1.52% of the GDP), is expected to be funded mainly by borrowing of N1.594 trillion, comprising of N744.99 billion domestic sources and N850 billion foreign sources (more concessionary financing against commercial financing arrangement).
On debt servicing, Federal Government proposed the sum of N2.5 trillion representing 23.74% of target expenditure for the incoming fiscal year and N296 billion for the retirement of maturing bond to local contractors, representing an increase of 169.09% from N110 billion for 2019.
Mrs Ahmed who affirmed that the country achieved 58% of its revenue target as at second quarter of 2019 fiscal year, explained that the success was largely because some one-off items such as the N10 billion from Oil Joint Venture Asset restructuring and N320 billion from revision of the Oil Production Sharing Contract legislation/terms are yet to be actualised.
Breakdown of the actual revenue accrued to government’s coffer between January and June 2019 showed that total sum of N900 billion (49%) was from Oil revenue; N349.11 billion (86%) from Company income tax; N81.36 billion (71%) from Value Added Tax while N184.10 billion (100.47%) was from Customs Collections.
“Fiscal deductions by NNPC for federally funded projects also exceeded target.”
Of the total appropriation of N8.92 trillion, the sum of N3.39 trillion had been spent as at June 2019 against the prorated expenditure of N4.58 trillion, representing 76% performance while N294.63 billion had been released for capital projects as at 30th September, 2019, despite late signing of the budget on the 27th May, 2019.
According to her, the 2019 actual GDP stands at 2.02% against the proposed 3.01% in the budget; 1.86mbpd of oil production against 2.3mbpd; $67.2 per barrel against the proposed $60 per barrel while the actual inflation rate stands at 11.4% against proposed 9.98% and exchange rate stands at N305.9/$ against the proposed N305/$ at half-year.
While speaking on the 2020 budget estimates reflects the adjustments to the MTEF/FSP with respect to the oil benchmark price of $57 per barrel from $55 per barrel and Customs revenue target raised to N1.5 trillion, an increase of N557.4 billion of which N235.5 billion is available to fund Federal Government’s budget.
She also assured that debt service and the implementation of non-debt recurrent expenditure, notable payment of workers’ salaries and pensions are on track, while spending on 4 critical sectors namely power, roads, rail and agricultural sectors are of top priority.
Mrs. Ahmed who expressed concern over the rising personnel cost including pension costs above N3 trillion, however, noted that steps are being taken to “contain the rising personnel costs, including an October 2019 deadline by Mr. President for all MDAs to implement IPPIS.”
As contained in the 2020 budget estimates, the Minister explained that MDAs are to roll over 60% of the 2019 projects due to paucity of fund in the current year.
In his opening remarks at the two-day event, President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan said the successful implementation of the nation’s annual budget depends on increased awareness of its citizens.
“The importance of the Budget proposal in national development cannot, therefore, be overemphasized. This is the reason why inputs have to be all-inclusive as we are now set to do.
“We understand that the Budget proposal is about the fiscal target, resource allocation, public expenditure policy, productivity and efficiency. We also understand that the process is one of passage, mobilisation and execution.
“For them to work well however, we have to have increased participation which also amounts to empowerment in the realm of information, awareness and education.
“An improved understanding most times comes through the exchange of ideas. It comes in a process of agreement and disagreement. Better awareness or expansion of thoughts could also come through purposeful interactions.
“Other than this is the fact that public hearing is a legislative tool of participation. Through it, we engage with critical stakeholders and the public, either separately or collectively.”
In his short remarks, Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Muktar Betara, explained that the public hearing was aimed at making it an all-inclusive process in the task of national development.
“As always, the enormity of demands translated to projects and huge capital can hardly match available resources. This is the more reason why we in the National Assembly and particularly in the House of Representatives will always do our utmost best in thoroughly processing the national budget.
“The 2020 Budget of ‘sustaining growth and job creation’ is no doubt built within robust and sound objectives, which if well programmed, will translate to effective implementation and dividends that will spiral growth across all sections and spheres of the country.
“We are also committed to working in line with this vision and inspiration.”

Armed Men attack Kwankwaso in Kano [PHOTOS]

The 63rd birthday celebrations of a former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Monday turned awry as his long motorcade suffered attack by armed thugs.
It was gathered that thugs, who brandished machetes, swords and other local weapons, waylaid the convoy while passing through Madobi Road flyover.Mr Kwankwaso on Monday commissioned Nafisatu College of Nursing and Midwifery, a private college he established in his hometown, Kwankwaso village to commemorate his 63rd birthday.
But as members of the group were returning back to Kano, witnesses said, they were attacked by unknown thugs at the bridge.
A statement by Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, spokesman for the PDP governorship candidate in the state, said 15 people were critically injured, while 10 vehicles destroyed.
Mr Dawakin-Tofa alleged that information at their disposal confirmed that hundreds of political thugs were assembled by officials of Kano State Government at the Sharada/Sabon Titin Panshekara underpass bridge at about 1:30pm, with the aim of disrupting the convoy of Mr Kwankwaso.
“Eyewitnesses at the underpass and some of the victims identified the leader of the thugs as Muratala Salisu, a.k.a Gwarmai, former S.A Special Services to the governor, Nazifi Nanaso, Tabo, Ahmadi Babba, Babale Kuffa K/Wambai, Jamilu Goje, Rambo ‘Yanmota Bakin Kasuwa, Dan-Nura Warure, Janwe and Cimutun Dodo.
“Others are Shehullahi, Isa Dani Badawa, Salo Karota, K.B Soja, Ahmadun Boma Yakasai, Ayi Dan-Allah Sharada, Aminu Mai Talakawa, Musa Baba Dorayi, Umaru Sani Koki, Balele ‘Yanmota Kasuwar Kurmi, Babba Akufi, Babawo Koki, Muntaka Niga Darma, Ma’aru Goma Hanga, Bashir-Go, Danbaba Kofar Mata and Isa Kwanti.
“The government-sponsored thugs went on rampage, destroying vehicles of notable leaders among which are Air Commodore Zakari Sani, Dr. Danyaro Ali Yakasai, who is a former Commandant General of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) and many others.
“They also snatched two vehicles and a motorcycle, (including a) brown Honda Civic (Wagon) with registration number XA521KUR and dark blue Golf Wagon belonging to Mukhtar Isa of Sharada, Salihu Kabir Faskari and Aminu Lawal Abdullahi of Zangon Dakata respectively,” the statement alleged.
The statement also condemned the attack, saying there is growing incidences of political thuggery and intimidation on the members of opposition.
He said such criminality “orchestrated by Ganduje’s administration has regrettably become a trend to crush and silence the opposition.”
“We wish to go on record that immediately we heard about state government’s plans on the attack, the leadership of Kwankwasiyya got in touch with the security agencies but they did nothing to forestall the incidence,” said the statement.
The statement therefore called on the President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of responsibility take an urgent action to curtail the ugly trend that portrays serious danger to democracy.

Saraki reacts to court order on forfeiture of his Ikoyi residence

Immediate past Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has claimed the Court, which granted a temporary forfeiture order on his houses in Ikoyi, Lagos on Monday was misled.
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos had ordered the temporary forfeiture of two properties of Saraki in the Ikoyi area of Lagos state following an ex-parte application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Reacting in a statement by Yusuph Olaniyonu, his media aide, Saraki said neither him nor his lawyers were aware of any application by the EFCC for any forfeiture order.
He said a Federal High Court in Abuja had earlier given an order restraining the EFCC from taking action on the property, as it is a subject matter where the anti-graft agency and the ministry of justice were parties.
The statement reads, “We are sure the FHC judge in Lagos was not aware of all these facts and has therefore been misled into giving the temporary forfeiture order. The affected property, House Number 17 A and 17B, was specifically listed in the case against him at the Code of Conduct Tribunal in which the EFCC was part of the prosecution and the case went up to the Supreme Court where the apex court in its July 6, 2018 judgement ruled in his favour.
“The Supreme Court has ruled that the source of funds for the purchase of the property was not illicit as claimed by the prosecution. On pages 12, 13 and 26 of the judgement of the highest court, this particular property on 17A McDonald Street, Ikoyi, was specifically referred to and the court upheld the no case submission of Dr. Saraki and therefore ruled in his favour.”
Olaniyonu urged supporters of Saraki to remain calm while the case is resolved.
“We know that any action which tends to mislead the court amounts to misrepresentation and it is a good ground for us to get the Court to throw away the order it issued today. We are sure the order will be reversed.
“We, therefore, call on all the friends, associates and supporters of Dr. Saraki to remain calm because we know this action will not stand when the court gets to hear the side of the former Senate President.”

Minimum wage agreement victory for workers-NLC

Image result for nlc

The Nigeria Labour Congress has described the signing of an agreement by the Federal Government and Organised Labour on the percentage increase on the consequential adjustment in workers’ salaries as a result of the new minimum wage of N30,000 as a victory for Nigerian workers.
NLC President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, commended all workers and its affiliate unions for their support, solidarity and unity of purpose throughout the difficult negotiations.
Wabba, in a statement he personally signed in Abuja on Friday, said that it was heartwarming that the process was eventually rewarding.
The leadership of the NLC and the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNPSNC) – Trade Union Side, had in the early hours of Friday reached an with the Federal Government on consequential salary adjustment for public sector workers based on the new national minimum wage.
Wabba said that Organised Labour had once again, disappointed the antics of those whose interest laid elsewhere than the common goal of protecting and advancing the interest of ordinary Nigerian workers.
The statement reads: “We want to thank all Nigerian workers and our affiliate unions for their support, solidarity and unity of purpose throughout the difficult negotiations. It is heartwarming that the process was eventually rewarding.
“We must say that, as always, we disappointed the antics of those whose interest lies elsewhere than the common goal of protecting and advancing the interest of ordinary Nigerian workers.
“We wish to emphasize that the hard-won salary adjustment will benefit all categories of workers including those in the military and para military services. Apart from workers, the recent salary increase will also benefit ordinary citizens especially those in the informal sector as the increase in the available disposable income of workers will translate into a stronger purchasing power for our people.
“This will however only be sustainable if traders and providers of essential services refrain from artificial inflation of the prices of goods and services. It makes more sense to sell more at a stable price than sell little or nothing at inflated prices. Certainly, we have learnt from our past mistakes that inflation of prices with adjustment in salaries is a roulette game in which the downtrodden masses are the victims.
“We also call on government to refrain from introducing counter-productive economic policies and decisions that would erode the recent wage gain achieved by workers. Any further increase in the prices of petroleum products, electricity tariff and personal income taxes would amount to collecting with the left hand what is given to workers with the right hand. The leadership of organized labour will resist such move.
“Arising from our successful negotiation with the Federal Government, it is expected that all employers of labour in the public sector must ensure that all the necessary formalities for a smooth implementation of the negotiated salaries based on the new national minimum wage are carried out with immediate effect.
“While commending state governments that have already commenced implementation of the new national minimum wage, we urge that the implementation should be a product of collective bargaining process in line with ILO Convention 98 on Organizing and Collective Bargaining.
“Furthermore, all employers of labour in the thirty-six states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as well as the Organized Private Sector (OPS) are expected to complete the implementation process of the new national minimum wage and consequential wage adjustment forthwith.
“State Councils of the Nigeria Labour Congress are hereby directed to offer leadership and work harmoniously with the TUC and JNPSNC and all unions to ensure effective implementation of the new national minimum wage and the consequential salary adjustment that must be reached through a process of collective bargaining.”
