Okowa, Tambuwal commission road project in Delta

Sokoto state Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwa yesterday commissioned the 1.88 kilometer reconstructed Mariam Babangida Way in Asaba, Oshimili South Council and the 7.5 kilometers Ogwashi-Uku/Ubulu-Unor Road in Aniocha South Council Area of Delta State.
Tambuwa, who accompanied Governor Ifeanyi Okowa during the commissioning of the projects, said his colleague was not only doing well in infrastructure development, but was also providing quality leadership in the state.
He described Governor Okowa as “a sound, pragmatic and accommodating leader, who has the people’s interest at heart,” as he ensures delivery of service to humanity, adding that the Governors Forum and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have much regard for Okowa, which was why the party always engages him to handle difficult tasks.
“For Okowa and I, our objective is the same, providing good governance at all levels. The governor is comprehensively delivering good governance to Delta people and as such, he is not only a road master apart from providing infrastructure, he provides good governance and he pays workers salaries regularly.
Responding, Okowa described Tabuwal as a true friend, which has improved the relationship between Sokoto and Delta states.
noting, “The Maryam Babangida Way is strategic and important and apart from the fact that it was named after Maryam, it houses the important aspects of governance in the state.”
“We have the Court of Appeal complex, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), State Secretariat Complex that houses all our Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and one of the best hotels, among others on the road.”
On his part, Commissioner for Works, James Augoye, noted that the 1.88 km road was impassable before the contract the Okowa administration awarded it contract on March 27, 2018.
