Co-workers buy car for dad walking about 3 hours to work to 'step-up' for daughter

      Every day for the past seven months, UPS worker Trenton Lewis has been waking up at midnight to make it to his 4 a.m. shift loading trucks in Little Rock, Arkansas. 

 Lewis, 21, didn't have a car, so he walked to work -- for five miles -- no matter the weather. The new father said he was doing it for his baby daughter. 

Esteban Loaiza, who spent time with Yankees, arrested with 44 pounds of cocaine worth $500G

Esteban Loaiza, with the Yankees in 2004, is facing felony drug charges.

     Former Yankees pitcher Esteban Loaiza was arrested Friday in San Diego with an estimated half million dollars of what police believe was cocaine, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

Loaiza, 46, was also charged with felony counts of possession or purchase of narcotics and transportation or sale of narcotics.

A sheriff’s department drug surveillance team busted the All-Star hurler after he left his home near the Mexican border during a traffic stop in a car they believed was carrying drugs, police said.

Investigators discovered the 44 pounds of white power stashed in a secret compartment in the vehicle they believe is part of a drug smuggling ring, according to Lt. Jason Vickery of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

Kim Jong-un thanks S Korea for Olympics

        North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has praised South Korea for its "impressive" efforts in hosting a delegation from the North during the Winter Olympics.

State media outlet KCNA said Mr Kim had thanked the South for "prioritizing" the North's visit to the Games in Pyeongchang.

Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi sacks 104 aides over non-performance

       On Saturday, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State sacked 104 Executive Assistants over non-performance.  

The Governor, while announcing the sack, expressed dismay with his Executive Assistants from Enugu North Senatorial District of the state over their nonchalant attitude towards the ongoing voters’ registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

       A former Governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, has said Nigeria cannot be described as a federation while running a unitary system of government.

Jang, who is also the senator representing Plateau North and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, stated this during an interview with journalists at his Jos residence.

He blamed the military for foisting on the country “a unitary constitution to be operated in a federal system of government,” adding that the constitution “is why nothing is working.”
