NYCN: Sacked APC bigwigs rubbishing Malami, Buhari’s govt

Sacked APC bigwigs rubbishing Malami, Buhari’s govt - NYCN

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has claimed that some All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders who were recently sacked are taking their grievances too far. The council claimed that the ruling party's former pillars are employing media attacks against the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, PR Nigeria reports.

The NYCN added that this band of APC members is also against Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami.

Even more, the president of the group, Comrade Solomon Adodo, on Wednesday, July 15, said that some persons in the party are trying to use the probe on Ibrahim Magu, the suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by the presidential panel to discredit the efforts of President Buhari against corruption.

“There is a limit to how they can vent their anger on Mr. President, they have chosen to unleash all their venoms on the Attorney General.” Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the APC on Thursday, June 25, dissolved its National Working Committee (NWC) amid crisis threatening to implode the ruling party.

This drastic decision of the party came on the heels of recommendations made by President Muhammadu Buhari during a crucial meeting on Thursday. The dissolution of the APC's NWC was announced on the Twitter page of President Buhari's special assistant on new media, Bashir Ahmad.

In place of the NWC, the party's National Executive Council (NEC) announced the composition of a caretaker committee to oversee a new national convention. The said committee is to be chaired by the governor of Yobe state, Alhaji Mai Bala Muni.

Muni was sworn-in at the meeting by Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami. The NEC also ratified the APC primary election in Edo state, meaning the party will retain Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as its candidate for the gubernatorial poll.
