President Muhammadu Buhari has departed his hometown of Daura, Katsina en route Abuja, after participating in the presidential and National Assembly elections.
The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that Buhari was seen off at the helipad in Daura by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar, well wishers and relations.
Buhari left Daura at 10am on Monday in a presidential helicopter marked NA-541 as he awaits announcement of the presidential results from INEC.
Buhari is expected back in Daura by next week to enable him participate in the governorship and state assembly elections scheduled for March 9, 2018.
INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, had on Sunday night announced that winner of presidential election will be announced soon, as official collation of results will begin by 11am in Abuja.
