What Secretary General of the Federation told APC governors
Secretary to Government of the Federation SGF, Boss Mustapha, has urged governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC to align with policies and programmes of Federal Government.
Mustapha, who made the call at the 6th Quarterly Meeting of Secretaries to State Governments SSGs of APC states, said that such alignments would engender effective delivery of the party’s manifestos.
He said that the government would not make much impact on the people if Progressive State Governments were unable to implement Federal Government’s programmes.
Mustapha, represented by Dr Habiba Lawal, Permanent Secretary in his office, said that President Muhammadu Buhari-led government had striven to actualise APC’s manifestos, especially in the fight against corruption and insurgency.
He said that the feeding of seven million children in 22 states under the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme and improvement in power generation and supply to about 7,000 megawatts, were part of the party’s manifesto.
He added that the government had also upgraded transport infrastructure and guided improvement in the economy.
Mustapha added that the war against corruption was yielding results, stressing that though the battle was still on, the introduction of BVN and observation of other principles had continued to sustain the war.
Earlier, Kogi Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, represented by his deputy, Mr Simon Achuba, had described the meeting as an evidence of the synergy in the APC and assured that with unity, the ruling party could achieve more.
“Gathering like this will help us to put our heads together on how best to deliver our manifestos to the people. We should expect more performance, development and peace in the land”, he said.
Bello hinted that the state government had keyed into the Treasury Single Account TSA policy of the Federal Government in its effort to plug identified financial leakages.
