The South East All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Support Group, yesterday gave the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee 72-hour ultimatum to reverse the suspension of Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha over alleged anti-party activities.
The support group slammed Oshiomhole over the suspension of the governor for alleged anti party activities, saying they would not tolerate any other leader of the South East in the party to be rubbished.
Director of Inter-Party Affairs, Prince Robert Ngwu, Ejikeme Ugwu, National Legal Adviser and Maxwell Okoye, Director of Political Matters, who jointly addressed newsmen in Owerri, Imo State capital, condemned the suspension of the governor and said the suspension must be reversed immediately within 72 hours.
They said the motive behind the suspension of governor Okorocha is primarily to destabilise the zone ahead of the 2023 presidency, which the zone is laying claim to.
“We condemn the suspension of governor Okorocha in its entirety and insist it must be reversed within 72 hours. Oshiomhole wants to destabilise the South East zone ahead of the 2023 presidential contest, which the zone is laying claim to.”
The group, which called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately call Oshiomhole to order, stressed that the Imo State governor is not only a founding member of the party but also a major financial pillar of the party in the South East.
Meanwhile, the group has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his well deserved victory, appealling to him to ensure the completion of on going projects in the South East and to consider the zone in sensitive appointments.
