Don’t give our land for ranching

Students from Ibarapa geo-political zone in Oyo State under the umbrella of Federation of Ibarapa Students Association (FIBSA) have warned the Oyo state government to steer clear of Ibarapaland for the proposed cattle ranching.
FIBSA, in a statement signed by its National President, Ayobami Ayuba Ayandele and obtained by DAILY POST on Sunday evening, urged the state government to reverse its proposed decision of using Ibarapaland as cattle ranch or the so-called farm settlement.
Ayandele, in the press release, insisted that the government must at all times dialogue with relevant stakeholders and put the interest of the people first in all its dealings.
He said, “We want Oyo State Government to reverse the decision of using Ibarapa Land as Cattle ranch or the so-called farm settlement.
“The government needs to dialogue with the legitimate stakeholders of our community and put the interest of our people first in any of its doings”.
Ayandele further demanded that the zone needs infrastructure and not something he said will destroy the zone.
He said, “Ibarapaland do not need cattle ranch, we only need good infrastructure and basic amenities that will promote our zone, not the one that will destroy the peace in our land.”
