Gbaramatu youths undertake sanitisation for Nigerian Maritime University takeoff



  
    In eagerness for the commencement of the Nigerian Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Gbaramatu youths under the aegis of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has undertaken a two-day voluntary sanitation exercise to tidy up the campus premises in readiness for its take off.

    The IYC said the gesture was an expression  of the people's friendly, hospitable and accomodating disposition as host of the tertiary institution in readiness for its Immediate commencement.

   According to a statement signed by the chairman of Gbaramatu youth wing of IYC, Godswill Doubra Wuruyai, the two day voluntary sanitation exercise from October 31- November 1, 2017 at the Nigerian Maritime University(NMU), Okerenkoko Campus, Kurutie, is to publicly express the feelings of the people over the presence of a higher institution in their community and their readiness to be a peaceful host.

  "We use this medium to call on the Federal Government to release the #2billion alleged to have been approved for the commencement of the University as conveyed by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, to the necessary authorities for them to galvanize its immediate take off.

  "As peace loving youths of Gbaramatu Kingdom, we reiterate that we shall continue to promote and maintain a serene environment for the institute to thrive peacefully", the community youth leader assured.
