The party said the agents had been commissioned to destabilize APGA ahead of the 2019 general elections in Abia State.
It stated that APGA would not accept what it described as unsolicited gifts from the enemies of Abia, who were determined to hold the suffering Abia masses into perpetual servitude and slavery through their ill conceived plot to destroy APGA and plant their already settled agent as APGA gubernatorial candidate in a bid to go into the 2019 governorship election unchallenged.
APGA gave the warning in a communique issued to newsmen on Thursday evening, shortly after its enlarged leaders’ and stakeholders’ meeting at Idima Abam, in Arochukwu LGA of Abia state.
Part of the communique reads,”That after reviewing the activities of the present state leadership of our party and discovering its passionate determination to upholding the identity of APGA as a progressive party and its place as the leading opposition political party in Abia, hereby pass a Vote of Confidence on the Abia State APGA Chairman – Rev. Augustine Ehiemere and members of the State Working Committee.
“That we have it on good authority that the sum of TWO HUNDRED MILLION NAIRA (N200,000,000.00) has been given through an unregistered and unpopular acclaimed aspirant, who also is an indigene of Arochukwu LGA for onward transmission to some National officers of APGA who are available to be bought.
