Shehu Sani hails senate’s decision on Omo-Agege

Senator Shehu Sani ,  representing Kaduna Central, on Tuesday said senate’s adherence to court order on Senator Ovie Omo-agege was a step away from tyranny and desecration of democracy in the country.

Newsmen recalls that the Senate on Monday night complied with the judgement of the Federal High Court, ordering Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to resume from his suspension on Tuesday, May 15.

Reacting, Sani writing on his Facebook page said senate’s adherence to court order would challenge the executives and all security agencies to also respect all court orders pending before them.

As a man born in Kaduna where PMB lived,I can attest to his history of honesty & moral uprightness; But there are other Nigerians who are equally upright;Gowon,Adamu Ciroma,Balarabe Musa,Usman Jibrin,Yohanna Madaki,Aliyu Jamaa etc.We have good people in our country everywhere.

Meanwhile, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project SERAP has sent a petition to Mr. Diego García-Sayán, UN Special Rapporteur on President Muhammadu Buhari’s disobedience to court rulings and orders.

The organisation, in a petition dated May 11, 2018 to the UN, lamented the Federal Government’s habit of picking and choosing court judgments to obey.

SERAP in its petition urged García-Sayán to use his good offices to prevail on President Buhari to ensure the sanctity of the country’s constitution as well as respect for the country’s international obligations.
