Two children of the same parents allegedly disappeared from their school, Igwedimma Nursery and Primary school, Amawbia, Awka South LGA of Anambra State.
The children, Kamsiyochukwu and Chidera Ezekwere, aged two and four years, respectively, were said to have been missing at the close of school when their mother came to pick them.
According to the Head Teacher of the School, Anene Stella, the kids, who were in nursery one and two, respectively, were left in the class by their teacher, alongside other children, to pick a document at home.
she said that she was at St Mary’s Catholic Church Awka to attend a meeting when she received a call from one of her teachers that they were looking for the two children. She said the mother was in the school too, and they joined her in the search for the children but could not find them anywhere. Anene said she rushed to the school immediately and joined in the search without result and later went to the central police station to enter a report.
The mother of the children Rosemary Chinyere said since she was new in town, and had no house help, she decided that the children would be staying with one of their teachers after school, until she would come pick them.
That faithful day, she came to the school at 2pm prompt, but when she entered their class none of the teachers was seen as usual in any of the classes. she did not also see her children, she only saw their bags and their launch boxes. she opened their lunch box and the food they carried to school was also intact.
She said the teacher in charge of the children later came, but when she asked her about the children, she told her she left them in the class.
Ezekwere said she and her husband have also made official report to the police, but that days after the report, no news of the children had been heard.
The agitated mother, who is also pregnant, broke down in tears, calling for help from anyone who could assist her recover her lost children.
