Pogba’s performance becomes a topic for Mourinho and Rio Ferdinand
Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho has praised his midfielder, Paul Pogba for his discipline and maturity after France beat Belgium to reach the World Cup final.
The Red Devils’ midfielder played an instrumental role for France in last night’s 1-0 win, man-marking club’s team-mate, Marouane Fellaini to combat his aerial threat. The 25-year-old was allowed to go forward more as France sat deep and defended their lead in the latter stages of the match.
The former Juventus midfielder has often been accused of lacking the discipline to play in midfield but his United boss has now praised him saying that Pogba played with maturity and when he had to hold position and keep control of the play. He had freedom to keep the ball away from dangerous areas, to keep the ball, to assist Griezmann for a great chance, he was very very mature.
Also speaking on the player’s performance, United legend Rio Ferdinand was similarly impressed, claiming Pogba had justified his £89million price tag. And also saying that he thinks Pogba showed why he went for so much money.
Ferdinand says that Pogba is disciplined, which he was called out for beforehand and seems to have come out into play, stating that he emerged as the midfielder on the pitch in the game.
