Mbang, Ekwere Reveals Why they support Govenor Emmanuel Udom come 2019

Former Prelate of Methodist Church of Nigeria, Sunday Mbang, Akwa Ibom State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN,  Rev Ndueso Ekwere and other Christian leaders in the state have urged Christians to ensure they elect God-fearing candidates in 2019 general election.

They made the call at a meeting held at the secretariat of Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly, ACA,  Uyo, the state capital, noting that they were solidly in support of the re-election of Governor Udom  Emmanuel because he has demonstrated good leadership in his first tenure.

Speaking, Prelate  Mbang the convener of the meeting,  urged Akwa Ibom people to re-elect Governor Emmanuel in 2019, noting that it won’t be nice for the Christian community to fold its hands and allow people with evil agenda to take over the state and the country. “Udom is our candidate and we will vote him. Don’t sell your destiny for a morsel of bread. The church has made a statement and the church stands by the earlier endorsement of Deacon Udom Emmanuel.

The line has been drawn between darkness and light,” he said. On his part,  the state Chairman of CAN, Rev. Ekwere, advised politicians against allowing greed to influence their decisions and actions, stressing that the association was supporting continuity of Governor Emmanuel in office in the spirit of justice and fairplay since previous governors also served eight years in office. Ekwere added:  “CAN believes that what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Akwa Ibom State is 99.9percent a Christian state, this means it would be safe to say the state is a church.

He said that no amount of intimidation, blackmail, threat and character assassination would deter them from mobilising the members of their churches to support the re-election of Governor Emmanuel for a second term.
