Public transportation in AkwaIbom state to receive a boost, with over 500 Units of buses



    Public transportation in AkwaIbom state is about to receive a boost, with over 500 Units of buses alongside 1,000 Air -conditioned taxis to be introduced soon.

   State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Charles Udoh disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Uyo shortly after the state Executive Council Meeting, saying that it has place order for the new vehicles, which are been procured under the Private Partnership Arrangement.
   Udo also revealed that contract for the construction of Superhighway to open up the coastal region of the state for more development would soon be awarded.
   On the flood situation in the state, as the rainy season approaches gradually, the Council also granted approval for the opening of Canals to aid channel rain water and reduce incidence of flooding in Uyo metropolis.
