The University of Abuja and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are to work together on programmes that seek to boost academic learning, research, and the promotion of world peace.
According to a statement signed and made available newsmen by the deputy registrar ;Information and Publications, WaziriGarba, yesterday in Abuja, the vice chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Michael U. Adikwu, and the Saudi Arabian ambassador to Nigeria, AmbFahad Abdullah Sefyan, gave this indication when the Saudi Arabian envoy visited the vice chancellor recently.
According to Ambassador Sefyan, there are a lot of benefits that the two countries could derive from mutual cooperation between the University of Abuja and their counterparts in Saudia Arabia.
He listed joint effort towards the development of academic programmes and researches which were aimed at enhancing the capacity for economic growth of the two nations and the promotion of world peace as some of the key areas of collaboration.
The envoy expressed the readiness of the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia to sponsor some of the projects or programmes that would be identified by both the University and the Saudi officials, and urged the university to identify the areas of critical importance to its development for further discussion.
