Adamawa PDP wants Atiku, others to return

The newly elected leadership of the PDP in Adamawa State has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and all former members to return to the party.

‎   The party leaders made the appeal during the swearing-in of the 21 local government area chairmen of the party who were elected during the recent congresses conducted by the party in the state.
The state chairman of the party, Barrister Tahir Shehu, made the call on their behalf at the inauguration ceremony held yesterday in Yola. He cautioned members that his style of leadership would be based on all-inclusiveness, transparency and accountability, saying the era of impunity had gone for good.  He therefore appealed to founding fathers, major stakeholders and other influential party sympathizers who for some obvious reasons defected from the party to other political parties to reconsider the decision of returning to  PDP.

He listed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Hon. Adamu Kamale, Hon. Emmanuel Tsamdu (Deputy Speaker, Adamawa State Assembly) among others, saying this was the right time for their return. He said reconciliation committees would be formed at the local government and ward levels to reconcile with aggrieved members. “I am personally calling on Dr. Umar Ardo and Hon. Bobboi to sheath their swords and let them join their hands with us to take the party to greater height,” he pleaded.
