What Ajimobi said while inaugurating 68 LG chairmen in Oyo states



     Governor of Oyo state  Abiola Ajimobi earlier inaugurated the newly-elected local government council chairmen, who emerged victorious in the just-concluded local government elections in the state.

They were elected on Saturday in an election conducted by the State Independent Electoral Commission OYSIEC. The results were announced on Sunday.



Present at the swearing-in ceremony held at the House of Chiefs’ secretariat in Ibadan were the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Olalekan Alli, Chief of Staff Dr. Gbade Ojo, members, House of Representatives, Hon, Akeem Adeyemi and Hon. Saheed Fijabi.


The Chief Justice of the state, Justice Munta Abimbola administered the oath of office on the newly-elected council chairmen at about 11.15 am on Monday.

Ajimobi, in his remarks, urged members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and others in the state to cooperate with his administration in repositioning the state.

He stated that the successful conduct of the local government elections has proved again that his administration is loved by the people of the state.


Ajimobi said, “Similarly, the successful conduct of the local government election was free and fair and that has demonstrated the belief of the people in this administration.

“Your victory at the election should be seen and understood as a great call to service. Your leadership must also reflect the people-oriented policies of our administration. You must also know that your overwhelming votes is a testimony of our acceptance by the people.

” For those who did not partake in the election, we are not perturbed. Your victory has placed a great task on your shoulder to serve humanity. Let me also use this opportunity to appeal to all members and others to support this administration in repositioning Oyo state.
