Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria initiate reforms in the judiciary

The Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, has initiated some reforms in the judiciary with a view to ensuring better and quicker dispensation of justice.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, confirmed this in Abuja at the weekend at a ceremony to mark the 80th birthday of a former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Alfa Belgore.
The minister further disclosed that the Acting CJN was collaborating with the executive in addressing the reforms through legislative and judicial proceedings processes.
According to him, the revitalised collaboration between the executive and the judiciary under the present administration will quicken the dispensation of justice in the country and ensure there is no hiding place for corrupt persons.
Mohammed therefore described the development as a new dawn.
