Governor of Akwa Ibom commission a modern 3311KV, 2X15 MVA electricity injection substation




      In his resolve to ensure steady power supply to Uyo the state capital, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom has commissioned a modern 3311KV, 2X15 MVA electricity injection substation with an assurance that his vision of industrializing Akwa Ibom state is on course.

   Emmanuel said his administration started by restoring power in some parts of Ini and Okobo local government areas where there was no light for several years, and added that Ikot Abasi main town will soon be visited with light.
   He said the power station in Uyo was his efforts at improving power supply in the state capital, maintaining that people in the area connected to the line have already attested to the longer periods of power supply every day.
   He said that the second power station located at Ekim in Mkpat Enin will be commissioned in few weeks and will enable the stability of power supply in five local government areas.
   The Governor said Ikot Abasi oil free trade zone where an Industrial park and jetty are currently being developed, has been marked by the Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone Authority, and announced plans to create an enabling environment for some development partners to commence a clay refinery in the state.
