The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Justin Okonoboh, has being impeached by the lawmakers.
According to reports, Okonoboh was the third Speaker to be removed since the current Assembly was inaugurated in 2015.
He was impeached for being selfish and running the Assembly like a family business.
The impeached speaker was accused of awarding contracts to himself and making his wife the 25th member of the House.
A lawmaker that wanted to resist the impeachment, Ezehi Igbas, representing Esan North East II, was beaten to stupor by members of the Assembly.
