SANs: Buhari has not broken any law to work from home

Reacting to the President’s decision to work from home some constitutional  lawyers have said that President Muhammadu Buhari has not violated any law with his decision.

They said the President, who has just returned to the country after seeking medical treatment abroad, can work from home or anywhere in the country to fully recuperate.
The legal practitioners include Seyi Sowemimo SAN, Chief Sebastine Hon SAN, Chief Babatunde Fashanu SAN, Dr Paul Ananaba SAN, Chief Wahab Shittu and a former member of Ogun State Judiciary Service Commission, Abayomi Omoyinmi.
According to Sowemimo SAN, there is not much difference between where the president stays in Aso Rock and where he goes to work, noting that the important thing is that the work should be done and he’s able to tackle the challenges weighing on Nigerians minds such as restructuring and hate speeches amongst others.
While Chief Sebastine, is of the opinion that, the fact that the president has left the United Kingdom to be physically present and work in Nigeria, is enough compliance with the law, Fashanu noted that, just as there is no law that limits the time he could spend abroad or on medical leave, there is none that states that he cannot work from home.
