The Federal Government has assured that the Second Niger Bridge as well as other federal projects in Anambra state and the entire South-East would receive federal boost.
The
Vice-President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo gave the assurance on Friday at a funeral
mass for late Mrs Roseline Ezinma Akabueze, mother of Ben Akabueze,
Director-General, Budget Office, Abuja at St Gabriels Catholic Church,
Ifitedunu in Anambra State.
Osinbajo revealed measures that the federal government had taken to commence and complete every federal project in the South-East, saying President Muhammad Buhari went to China to negotiate with the government on the bridge and other roads in East – West roads. The vice president re-stated that one of the cardinal principles of Buhari’s administration was fairness, which according to him has offered every political zones the opportunity to benefit in his government.
He urged the National Assembly to consider and accommodate all the federal projects during their deliberations. Dignitaries present at the occasion include the Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige, the Minister for Budget and National Planning, Sen. Udo Udoma, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Okey Enelama, and Sen. Uche Ekwunife.
