Reps to chart new course for Nigeria's unity
The House of Representatives on Tuesday resolved to chart a new course for a united Nigeria in view of the threats for disunity in the country.
The House consequently resolved to constitute a "strong committee" that would liaise with all the leaders in the six geopolitical zones in the country on the matter. The House also resolved to revisit the issue of devolution of powers it rejected in July during the voting on the constitution amendment.
The resolutions followed the adoption of a motion by House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila (APC, Lagos), on the need to ensure Nigeria's unity.
