The President, Muhammadu Buhari has left New York for the United Kingdom.
Buhari left New York yesterday where he attended the 72nd United Nations General Assembly meeting. The President on Tuesday addressed the gathering of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.
He pledged Nigeria’s solidarity to the United Nations and solicited the support of the international community in tackling global challenges. In his address, the President called on the international community to come together to focus on the need for gender equality, youth empowerment, social inclusion, and the promotion of education, creativity, and innovation. The frontiers of good governance, democracy including holding free and fair elections, and enthronement of the rule of law are expanding everywhere, especially in Africa.
The President was one of the African Leaders that had lunch with US President, Donald Trump and also held meetings with the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Gueterres and King Abdullah II of Jordan.
