Anambra guber: PPA flags off campaign, vows to cut cost of governance



  
 
   The Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) at the weekend, inaugurated the campaign of its candidate in the November 18 poll in Anambra state, Mr Godwin Ezeemo, with a pledge to run a prudent and transparent government. Addressing a mammoth crowd at  the play ground of All Saint Anglican church, Onitsha, Ezeemo said he would drastically reduce the cost of governance by eliminating luxuries and frivolous spending.

   He promised to put an end to multiple taxation and illegal revenue collection within his first three months in office if voted into power. "I shall run a prudent and transparent government that will audit and publish Anambra State government accounts annually. I shall establish the Anambra State in my first six months in office.
  
   "I shall partner with other states in the south east/south south region to lobby for the opening and maximum utilization of the Onistha Inland Port and  other ports in south south Nigeria," he said. Ezeemo who said he deliberately refused to reside abroad, but chose to return home with his numerous investments, also promised to reduce crime in the area to the barest level, especially kidnapping and armed robbery. He said Anambra as a commercial hub of the southeast deserved a peaceful and conducive  environment.

    "I shall make pipe borne water run again, not only in our homes, but in markets and schools.  "I shall focus on Security, Health, Agriculture, Power, Education from my first day in office," he added. While handing over the party flag to the candidate, the National chairman of the party, Peter Ameh, described Ezeemo as “a man of integrity and an embodiment of honesty and humility who has distinguished himself as an astute business man and administrator. He said he was humbled by his decision to relocate his numerous investments for the development of his state, urging the people of the state to vote massively for him.
