House of Reps to Partner MDAs, Stakeholders on Post-recession Plans
The House of Representatives ad hoc committee on recession will collaborate with ministries, department and agencies, MDAs, of government to map out ways to sustain benefits of exit from recession.
This is as it re-echoed the National Bureau of Statistics’s, NBS, announcement that Nigeria is out of recession.
Chairman of the committee, Hon. Bode Ayorinde who disclosed this at a press briefing in Abuja over the weekend, also announced that the committee will hold a two-day summit to collate views of Nigerians from different walks of life on how to ameliorate the sufferings of Nigerians.
While urging Nigerians to see the period of economic recession as an opportunity for the country to rediscover itself, the lawmaker said the summit will be expected to proffer ways through which the nation’s economy can be returned to a path of stability and sustainable growth.
He also informed that in the course of its assignment, the committee had collaborated with other agencies of government as well as critical stakeholders in the economy to get the country out of its trying period. The summit is scheduled to hold between 5 and 6 of November, 2017.
