NEMA to resume as the management and its workers have agreed over some industrial issues
All is set for normal activities to resume at the offices of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, as the management and its workers have agreed over some industrial issues and suspend the three days warning strike.
The NEMA management, led by the Director-General, Engr. Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja and the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ACSN, in a truce facilitated by Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige over the weekend, agreed to pay all legitimate outstanding claims of the workers.
Also, apart from putting in place a life assurance policy for the workers, NEMA is also expected to seek approval from the Federal Government for the payment of hazard allowances to all staff.
The two parties agreed to the Implementation Committee comprising the ASCN, NEMA Management to be chaired by the Director, Finance and Account, DFA, Federal Ministry of Labour was constituted to facilitate the verification and commence payment of staff claims by Tuesday 24th October, 2017.
