ArunaQuadri
will lead four other Nigerian players to the 2017 International Table
Tennis Federation World Tour, Hungary Open, in January.
The
competition, which is the first World Tour of the year, will hold between
January 17 and 22 in Budapest.
According
to reports, Nigeria will parade only male players, who are all based in Europe,
while Aruna will be joined by Italy-based duo KazeemMakanjuola and
OlajideOmotayo and Portugal-based duo OjoOnaolapo and Bode Abiodun.
Nigeria
will compete in the men’s singles and doubles of the event, where Abiodun will
pair with Makanjuola while Olajide will pair with Ojo and Quadri will pair with theEgyptian rival Omar Assar in the doubles.
The
Hungary Open will feature 343 players from 54 countries.
President
of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, EnitanOshodi, said the Tour would start
another busy year for the sport in the country.
