Watch a teaser for the last ever series of the crime thriller which airs next year
The wait is almost over - as the trailer for the third and final series of Broadchurch has just been released.
The new season of the eagerly-awaited hit crime mystery show returns to screens in 2017, but a ten second clip of what’s to come for detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller was released by BBC America on Thursday - and it’s not looking so cheery.
The short footage shows the cast of the drama, including David Tennant and Olivia Colman staring wistfully into the distance and looking fairly troubled.

This season sees some familiar faces joining the cast, including Sir Lenny Henry, former Corrie star Julie Hesmondhalgh and Roy Hudd.
The series was filmed in Dorset in the summer of 2016.
The third installment of the trilogy will focus on an investigation into a serious sexual assault, but show creator Chris Chibnall has admitted this will be the final outing for Hardy and Miller.
“This is the final chapter of Broadchurch. We have one last story to tell, featuring both familiar faces and new characters. I hope it’s a compelling and emotional farewell to a world and show that means so much to me.”
