DELTA State Government moves against anti-social vices women



      DELTA State Government is intensifying its effort at eliminating all social vices against women, warning that it will no longer tolerate any form of discrimination against women in the state.

   It made its position known at a two-day meeting hosted by Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, in Asaba and supported by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.
   The meeting, taggedSouth South Zonal Consultation on the Review of National Action Plan on United Nations Security Council Resolution, was declared open by Delta State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Omatsola Williams and had in attendance participants from Edo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, AkwaIbom and Delta States.
   Declaring the meeting open, Omatsola Williams noted that the implementation of the National Action Plan would be led by the ministry of Women Affairs thorough a multi-stakeholder steering committee comprising of members from other peace building institutions.
