Delta State House of Assembly has
granted the request of the state Governor, Senator IfeanyiOkowa to enable Delta
State participate in the Federal Government fertiliser intervention programme.
The governor,in his request, noted that participation
would enable the state to procure 8,000 metric tons of NPK 20:10:10 at the
price of N500 per 50 kilogrammes.
In his debate, the Majority Leader, Hon.
Tim Owhefere, said the Federal Government Fertiliser Intervention Programmewould
enhance agriculture, food production and security in the state, even as he urged
members of the House to support and authorize the request.
The motion was seconded by the Chief
Whip, Hon. Pat Ajudua, and was unanimously adopted by the House when put to a voice
vote by the Speaker.
Meanwhile, the House adjourned plenary
to January 24, 2017.
