FC Ifeanyiubah will have to forfeit three points and three goals for their refusal to continue the opening game of the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, season on Sunday.
The Nnewi club were trailing 0-1 at Kano Pillars but opted to discontinue the game leading to the referee FolushoAjayi calling off the contest.
The Anambra Warriors have now been charged by the League Management Company for breaching the NPFL Rule B13.26.
FC Ifeanyiubah would now forfeit three points and three goals from the game which shall be credited to their opponents Kano Pillars, the LMC announced last night.
The club will also pay a total of N9.15 million in fines for offences bothering on hindering television broadcast, causing delay to the restart of the match after half time, refusing to continue the match and for acts capable of bringing the league to disrepute.
FC Ifeanyiubah also has an eight-point deduction waiting to be activated if they fail to adhere to the NPFL Framework and Rules for different offences in the discontinued game.
