As
part of his peace mission to the Niger Delta region, Vice President Yemi
Osinbajo today visited the palace of the Pere of Gbaramatu kingdom, Williams Ogoba, Oboro II, at Oporoza and promised full academic
take-off at the Nigeria Maritime
University.
Accompanied
by the state governor, Senator Ifeayin Okowa, Deputy Governor of the state,
Kingsley Otuaro, among other top government and
traditional dignitaries, the Vice President was welcomed amidst joyful colorful
traditional dances and songs.
Speaking
after a closed-door meeting with the Gbaramatu monarch, members of the
traditional council of the kingdom, Governor Okowa and Ibe Kachikwu, who is the
minister of state for petroleum resources, Vice President Osinbajo said he was
sent as a messenger of President Muhammadu Buhari, even as he called on the
people to prepare for the future.

Also
speaking at the palace of the Pere of Gbaramatu, Governor Ifeayin Okowa,
appreciated the Vice President for his visit and called for peace among Ijaws
and Deltans, saying in a peaceful environment, development will occur with
ease.

Vice
President Osinbajo also inspected the Nigerian Maritime University in Kurutie, which when fully operational by September
2017, will be the first of its kind in West-Africa.
Meanwhile, the Vice President is billed
to visitBayelsa and Rivers States at a soon to
be announced date.
