Resumption of the federal lawmakers from their on going annual recess has been shifted from next week Tuesday, September 19, 2017 to upper week Tuesday, September 26, 2017.
Both the Senate and the House of Reptesentatives had on Thursday, July 27, 2017, embarked on a 6- week annual recess with resumption fixed for Tuesday , September 19, 2017.
In a press statement issued yesterday by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Omolori, the resumption for the lawmakers will now take place on Tuesday , September 26, 2017.
Though no reason was cited by the clerk in the statement for the postponement, but the extensive renovation work currently being carried out in NASS including the Hallow Chambers of both Houses is generally believed to be the reason behind it.
