The Police in Anambra has paraded 29 criminal suspects
for various criminal activities including armed robbery, and murder of
policemen during robbery attack.
This was disclosed
by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Garba Umar, during the parade
of the suspects at the Police Headquarters in Anambra. The suspects include three out of a six-man
gang of armed robbers responsible for the attacks and killing of policemen at
Nipping Points and robberies at fuel stations and various places. The suspects
were also reported to have carried out armed robbery attack at Bukachi Filling
Station, Eziowelle, on August 31, 2017.
Others paraded
include a suspected two-man gang armed robbers who were arrested at Uru Ogidi

The third category
of suspects paraded is the kidnap suspects who invaded the house of their
victim in Aguleri and took him to a shrine where he was subjected to torture
but was luckily rescued by the police. The
last group paraded include 22 young suspects within the age bracket of 16 and
25 who were nabbed for alleged cult activities. During the parade, Umar gave
assurance of the command’s commitment to deliver on the mandate of protecting
lives and property of the people of Anambra State through the continued fight
against crime and criminality of all kinds.
