The passage followed the adoption of the report and recommendations of the House Committee on Budget and Economic Planning, headed by Hon.RotimiOlowo.
The House approved the sum of N305.182 billion as total recurrent expenditure and N507.816 billion as the total capital expenditure for the year ending Dec. 31, 2017.
Hon. Olowo, while presenting the committee report, said the state would embark on progressive taxation, noting that the state was able to achieve 71 per cent budget performance in 2016.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon.MudashiruObasa, commended Hon. Olowo and members of the committee for its thorough scrutiny of the budget within a short time frame and directed the Acting Clerk, AzeezSanni to send a clean copy of the bill to GovernorAkinwnmiAmbode for his assent.
The House further adjourned its plenary till January 5.
