Urhobo Progressive Union now has a new leadership under Moses Taiga as President-General and OkotieOsiobeas 1st Deputy President.
The election was conducted at an emergency meeting convened by the Board of Trustee of the union at the Union’s secretariat at Uvwiamuge, Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta amidst tight security.
Commenting on the election, Victor Otomiewo, the union’s BoT secretary said the emergency meeting was convened to restore peace, sanity and tranquility within the Urhobo Nation.
In attendance were traditional rulers in Urhoboland, delegates from the 24 kingdoms in Urhobo land among others.
Meanwhile, the new officers have been were sworn-in.
