Germany pushes Tunisia on failed asylum seekers

German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, has told her Tunisian counterpart, Youssef Chahed that she wants to speed up the repatriation of failed asylum seekers.

Speaking after talks in Berlin, Merkel said the current rate of returns was not fast enough, warning that if people did not go back to Tunisia of their own accord, then they would be forced to go.
The issue has taken on greater urgency since December's deadly attack on a Christmas market in Berlin by a Tunisian jihadist whose asylum claim had been rejected.
