MFM FC Back to Top on NPFL Table

Stephen Odey scored his 13th league goal of the season as MFM FC returned to the top of the table after a hard-fought 2-1 win against Abia Warriors at Agege Stadium in yesterday's matchday 16 Nigeria Professional Football League clash.

Odey opened scoring in the fourth minute, meeting up Sikiru Olatunbosun's quick free-kick before placing the ball in the bottom left corner. Olatunbosun doubled MFM's lead on 31 minutes, curling in a brilliant free-kick over Abia Warriors' wall which sailed into the top right corner.
In the 84th minute, Abia Warriors made it a nervy finish as Sunday Adetunji scored for Abia. The win takes MFM's point to 30 after 16 games.
In Port Harcourt, Plateau United dropped to second after holding Rivers United to a 0-0 draw.
The draw was Plateau's third in their last six league games.
Plateau United are on 29 points, one point off leaders MFM.
