SON confiscate Five truck-loads of substandard electric cables in Obosi, near Onitsha

Five truck-loads of substandard electric cables, worth over N40 million has been confiscated by the Standard Organisation of Nigeria, SON, in Obosi, near Onitsha.

Dr Romanus Isife, SON’s Acting State Coordinator, made the disclosure in an interview with newsmen in Awka, explaining that the seizure followed a petition on the imported substandard electric cables, written against the fake producer, by the original patent of the cables.
He said two persons attached to the distribution firm where the items were recovered from were also arrested by the organisation.
While re-echoing that enforcement would be a continuous exercise, Isife warned those indulged in counterfeiting to desist from such act or risk arrest.
