The Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, has granted a compassionate concession to the players of disbanded City Of David United ,COD, football club, Ladies to play for any team of their choice in the upcoming season.
According to reports, the Lagos outfit were disbanded by its management on the eve of the registration deadline of March 21 given to the top-flight teams to complete registration for the football season due to commence on Saturday, March 25th.
NWFL chairperson Aisha Falode said the compassionate offer is the board’s human face gesture to always take into consideration the welfare of the main actors of the league in their decisions.
The NWFL season will commence on Saturday, March 25 with the star match slated for the Akure Township Stadium between hosts Sunshine Queens and Ibom Angels.
