NUT Delta State Council has expressed willingness to suspend the strike action by teachers




    The leadership of Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Delta State Council has expressed willingness to suspend the strike action by teachers in public primary and Secondary schools in the state.

   In a press conference after a meeting with Governor Okowa today at the Governor's Lodge in Warri, the state Chairman, Comrade Jonathan Jemirieyigbe described the meeting as fruitful, adding that the strike action would be called off within few days.
   On his part, Governor Okowa expressed hope that the teachers would go back to the classroom, asserting that issues that were discussed was to find ways to move the state forward.
    When our correspondent, Ruth Amadin contacted the NUT chairman at the Warri-South Local Government Level, Comrade Ishamel Ikuejawa, confirmed that the meeting held this morning, adding that both parties are working to see to it that the strike comes to an end soonest.
