The federal government says that it will
establish an Information Communication Technology University in the first
quarter of 2017.
The minister of Communications,
Adebayo Shittru disclosed this to
newsmen in Abuja
Shittu said the move would fetch Nigeria
a lot of foreign exchange, adding that his ministry was at the stage of
discussing with the Ministry of Education and the National Universities
Commission.
The minister said that the ministry had
also inaugurated the National Digital Literacy council to ensure that Nigerians
were digitalized.
He further added that the council would
drive the process of encouraging Nigerians to embrace digitization and appreciate ICT, which he described as the
potential soul business in the country.
