DPR threatens to shut fuel stations selling above approved pump price

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), says it will not hesitate to shut any fuel station selling above the government’s approved pump price of N145 per litre in Adamawa and Taraba.

Mr Mohammed Alaku, Zonal Controller of the DPR for Taraba and Adamawa, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola on Tuesday. Alaku called on the general public to report any filling station violating the law to the department.

He warned marketers against extorting the public, adding that the department would not spare any one violating the government policy on distribution of petroleum products.

The controller also warned marketers, who under dispense the products to customers, to desist as the department would continue to monitor their sales. “We are not going to take it kindly with any marketer who sells above the official pump price of the petroleum product.
