Emir of Zamfara, His Highness, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed, C.O.N, has been installed as the second Chancellor of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, FUPRE in Delta State.

The monarch was installed at the University’s main auditorium in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State as part of activities marking the first convocation ceremony of the university.
Oaths of Office were administered by the Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, NUC, Prof. Chiedu Mafiana, who represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the ceremony.
The appointment of the monarch as chancellor was described as strategic by Prof. Mafiana, who also stressed that the monarch was a meticulous and consummate visionary leader, even as he warned the new chancellor not to condone any act of corruption particularly within the university.
In an address, the newly installed Chancellor accepted the appointment and installation and called on the Federal and State Governments to come to the aid of the university.
