91 units of three bedroom bungalow in Vyvian Estate, Ibagwa Nike, in Enugu East Local Government Area, have been inaugurated by the federal government.
Minister of State for Works, Power and Housing, Mustapha Shehuri, says the feat is part of efforts to reduce housing deficit in the country, adding that plans were in place to build several housing units in every state of the federation for public workers over the next three years under public-private partnership.
He also appealed to workers in public and private sectors as well as those on self-employment to contribute to the National Housing Fund to enable them own their homes.
On his part, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi commended the Federal Government for the various initiatives it had put in place to fund housing projects in the state, saying that such initiatives were necessary complements of his administration’s efforts to provide affordable housing.
