FORMER Senate President, Ken Nnamani, former diplomat, Shehu Malami and a business guru, Clem Nwogbo have been selected for the award of honorary doctorate degrees during the 11th convocation ceremony of Nnamdi Azikiwe University taking place on Friday in Awka.
Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Joseph Ahaneku, who spoke during a pre-convocation press briefing in the university, also said that 200 PhDs, over 1000 Masters Degrees, 800 post graduate diploma and about 4000 students, who graduated from the university in the 2015/2016 academic session would receive their certificates at the ceremony.
Ahaneku also explained that 70 students, who excelled academically in their various departments in 13 faculties of the university, would be honoured by the institution.
According to him, former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu would deliver this year’s convocation lecture titled “National unity, governance and the fight against corruption.”
He said that the university has maintained the consistent calendar of holding its annual convocation, adding that it had also maintained uninterrupted academic calendar since 2003.
