Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure and Nigerian attacker Kelechi Iheanacho both played in Manchester City’s 2-0 win over Middlesbrough which secured passage into the semi-final of the FA Cup.
Manchester City won 2-0 at the Riverside Stadium thanks to an early strike from David Silva, while Sergio Aguero netted the second goal midway through the second half.
Toure started and played 86 minutes before he was replaced in midfield by Fernando, while Iheanacho made a brief substitute appearance in place of Aguero.
Both African players will be keen on more action this week when City face the return leg match of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie against Monaco.
