Football Association of Malawi is withdrawing from CHAN and AFCON qualifiers.
According to a statement signed by the federation’s executive officer, Alex Gift Gunda, the decision to withdraw was reached in an Executive Committee meeting.
Meanwhile, the association also resolved that the immediate recruitment of the Malawi National Senior Football team coach be suspended until the Government has adequate resources to fund such recruitment.
It however noted that the current huge gaps and shortfalls of the Senior National Football team can only be addressed through recruitment of a well-trained and highly experienced expatriate coach.
